A flexible, long-acting buprenorphine injection — available weekly or monthly — administered right here in our clinic.
A long-acting buprenorphine injection with more flexibility than most extended-release options.
Brixadi is an FDA-approved, extended-release buprenorphine injection for opioid use disorder, given as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) shot by our clinical team. What sets Brixadi apart is flexibility: it’s available in both weekly and monthly formulations, so your treatment can be tailored to where you are in recovery.
The weekly version can be started after just a single dose of transmucosal (under-the-tongue) buprenorphine — meaning some patients can move to Brixadi sooner than with other injectable options. The monthly version, like other long-acting injections, requires that you’ve already been stabilized on daily buprenorphine first.
Choose the dosing schedule that fits your stage of treatment and your life.
The weekly formulation can start after a single transmucosal dose — no lengthy stabilization required first.
Extended-release dosing keeps consistent medication levels between injections.
Every injection is given by our medical team, as part of your regular visit.
If you’re newer to buprenorphine treatment, the weekly option may let you transition to a long-acting injection sooner — often after just one dose of a daily medication. If you’re already stable on a daily regimen and want to move to the least frequent option, the monthly formulation may be the better fit. We’ll work with you and your care team to decide which schedule makes the most sense for your situation.
